Berkeley North Garden Design
The gardens were designed as a series of spaces that would complement and spatially extend the new house rooms into the outdoors. Walls, gates and fencing border the entrance terrace, the swimming pool garden, a kitchen / study garden and a spa garden. A wall fountain designed by Charles McCulloch is composed of Idaho Turquoise Quartzite stones abstractly fitted into a sandstone grid Centered on the living room windows, the water feature became the featured art piece in the entry court.
The driveway was designed as a courtyard with walls, colorful planting, washed stone channels double as drain ways, crossing patterns grass strips and colored concrete complete the composition.
Dense border plantings screen the road and soften the enclosure between the garage walls and the entry court stucco walls.
